Yoga is a wonderful practice for children and teens because it is a fun and challenging way to learn about the possibilities of what we can do with our bodies and minds. Kids become more confident, stronger, more flexible, and healthier.

Using yoga tools they learn in class helps children cope with the day to day pressures of school, friends, competitive sports and our fast-paced, technology-oriented society.

Ages 7+

Children have such vibrancy and enthusiasm for discovering where things come from and how things work in the world and in themselves so we learn about general anatomy and physiological functions of the human body while keeping the pace active and the poses challenging…. Full of energy and imagination, this age group still loves games, stories and music to accompany practice. We begin to partner in the poses thereby learning to communicate clearly and be sensitive to the needs of the other person. We learn about the history of yoga – including the Sanskrit names for the poses – and some very basic philosophy.

For families who prefer one-one-one attention, or children not yet ready to enter the group setting, or those who need personalized help with specific physical issues or other conditions such as sensory integration, aspberger’s symptoms, ADD, anxiety…
Ages 5 – 14    45 minutes   $50   


60 minute classes offered in 8-WEEK SESSIONS 

$120 per child for the entire session (6 child minimum)

YOGA for CHILDREN cultivates self-confidence, positive body image, healthy social skills, nutritional health and respect for the natural world. Children explore the body, breath and mind through practicing yoga postures, breathing exercises, human anatomy, visual imagery, and relaxation techniques.

A small snack is included at the end of class.

Yoga helps children to:

  • increase self-esteem and self-confidence
  • develop mental focus and calm
  • understand and manage their emotions
  • reduce stress and avoid depression
  • maintain a healthy weight and positive relationship with food
  • increase body awareness
  • build strength and develop flexibility

Grow Yoga Youth classes explore yoga poses, breathing exercises, nutritional health, human anatomy, visual imagery, and relaxation techniques while conveying lessons in self-confidence, body image, social skills, positive thinking, and environmental awareness.
